~About~

Anaya Associates was formed by Richard A. Anaya, Jr. in 1986. He began his career as a C.P.A. in public practice in New York City and as a financial executive in the corporate world. He has held positions as a tax professional and chief financial officer with privately held and New York Stock Exchange companies.

Mr. Anaya attended Hunter College's Bronx campus (now named Lehman College) in New York City, followed by two years in the U.S. Navy. After his service, he graduated from Baruch College in New York City with a B.B.A. degree, majoring in Public Accounting.

Prior to establishing Anaya Associates, Mr. Anaya held the post of Treasurer with Host International, Inc., a California based N.Y.S.E. company considered to be, at that time, the world's largest airport terminal food operator. While serving in this position, he raised over $100 million in debt financing and managed their merger, acquisition, and divestiture activities. Previous corporate affiliations include four years as Senior Tax Analyst at C.I.T. Financial Corp. and five years as Assistant Treasurer at Mutual Broadcasting System, Inc., both headquartered in New York City. On the entrepreneurial side, Mr. Anaya established a company, Campus Communications LLC, located in Westwood, California, that negotiated the exclusive rights for the sale of cell phones on the UCLA campus. An opportunity arose when Verizon Communications, Inc. made an offer to take over the operation, which Mr. Anaya accepted.

Mr. Anaya is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
